We are a family-owned and operated woodshop on the Big Island of Hawai’i that has been evolving since Peter opened his first shop in Honolulu in 1975. Since then, we’ve continued to serve a diverse group of customers who appreciate quality products and a cooperative process. Ziroli Woodworking is Peter’s lifework and passion - you can feel it in every piece.
Peter has been perfecting his craft since a young age — his first teacher being his father, Alfred. Specializing in building fine custom furniture and architectural elements, he has helped establish several woodshops and apprenticeship programs in Hawai’i, as well as directed the creation of lumber manufacturing facilities.
Peter’s wisdom and mastery of his work is apparent in the innovative, award-winning design of all his pieces. He enjoys teaching and mentoring students, passing on what he hopes will be a love and respect for the nature of wood.
We strive to use locally sourced materials as much as we can, including recycled and sustainably harvested hardwoods. Common hardwoods we work with are acacia koa, mango and ‘ōhi’a.
The tools and machinery we use are of the highest quality possible - everything from the antique chisels passed down from Peter’s father to the state-of-the-art saws from first-rate companies.
Our goal is to develop trusted connections with our clients and students. It’s important to us that you end up with a piece that you love and an experience that you want to come back to.
